About Dr. Kathryn What we’re often missing in our lives is our connection to Spirit. I call it Spirit, but you might refer to this Divine Creative Intelligence as God, Allah, Yahweh, or whatever your tradition calls for and you’re comfortable with.
In our society, and most Western societies, we’re taught early on that Spirit is outside of ourselves. That he’s sitting on a throne high in the sky making perpetual judgments on all of our actions and behaviors.
But, Spirit is not separate. Envision yourself as almost transparent – like in the movies when they show someone able to walk through walls. Now imagine a fog swirling all around you. This is Spirit – only Spirit also swirls through you and connects you with all living things. This creative, intelligent energy connects us all – black, white, brown, yellow, red. Rich, poor, learned, ignorant. We are all connected. And not only connected by this great energy to one another, but to the animals, and to all that Mother Earth offers to us. Once this realization comes alive in us, we can begin to truly feel compassion for ourselves as well as all that is connected to us.
Over the millennia, ego has separated us from Spirit. We’re born with one aspect of ego imbedded in our personality – the Id. This part functions solely on getting our needs met. We know almost immediately upon birth that when we cry we get attention. Soon, we cry when we’re hungry, thirsty or unhappy in any way. So, at this point our ego is our survival mechanism.
The trouble comes when we learn that these are not acceptable ways of making our needs known and we learn to manipulate those around us to take care of our needs for us. We become competitive. We become secretive and we start separating ourselves from one another. We allow jealousy and envy to come into our lives, followed by anger and vindictiveness.
As we realize these traits are not acceptable, we put on a face of love. We show this love, however, only to our families, or those we deem ‘worthy’ of our love. Compassion only applies to our children, and on occasion, to a spouse or lover. We express disdain for strangers that fail to meet our standards. We deepen the separation.
This separation creates a void in us. We try to fill this void with a prestigious job, house, car….things. And we work hard at convincing ourselves it’s working. But it doesn’t. And when we finally awaken to this fact, we start looking outside ourselves for answers when we should be looking inside – for our connection to the Divine.
This is where I offer my services. Whether you want to learn to transform negative, self-limiting beliefs into more positive, empowering beliefs or whether you want to delve into the meaning of life – or anything in between – I’m here to share with you my life’s journey and what I’ve learned and experienced along the way.
I’ve been on and off my own journey all my life. I questioned the teachers in Sunday School, went on to study various branches of Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Islam and went to Hajj. I’ve meditated and read and studied masters that resonated with me. I’ve synthesized my own belief system based on this background and feel compelled to be as open and transparent as possible in order to help others on their own journey.

I'm also an ordained, non-denominational minister and I would be happy and honored to officiate at your wedding, commitment ceremony, or any other occasion. Just email me for information: drkathryn@drkathrynonline.com or fill out the "contact" form.
